Christmas again!
Christmas holidays intertwine the traditions of different people, memories of the past and present dreams. Yet, this should always be an opportunity to unite all the feelings into one. We should try having Christmas in our world, our lives and in our hearts.
With the cold winter wind, the lights of faith and hope shine alongside Christmas carols and sale announcements. But for many people Christmas is a melancholy time, a time of heartache and emptiness because they are away from their families, from their land or because they have lost a dear one. Maybe for others, this is a difficult time because they don’t have money, a job, health, or they lack something else.
The language of God is different: it is simple and humble, and it hides in the simplicity of a child born in a manger, irradiating the light of love and keeping God’s promises. With His humanity, the child disarms all hearts, transforming them from violence and hatred into forgiveness and reconciliation. With His fragile life, He speaks to us about hope, about being able to make it, about growth and facing life’s challenges.
Because in spite of the poverty, the scorn of some people and the indifference of the whole world, the Word of God was born and made man in order to save all humankind; to comfort those in sorrow and admit the ones that have died into His kingdom; to bring hope to the ones that journey in life and encourage the poor to discover the riches of faith.
Jesus wants to be born again in our darkness and in our suffering, to heal and give life, so we may discover the reason for human existence and return to the values of humankind. To make us feel that we are one family. Let Him renew and revive the faith in our Church, our families and our hearts.
