The Hispanic Family: Enriched by Faith and Tradition
Every October, we celebrate the Hispanic month. The festivities remind us about the delicious food, the diversity of dances and cultures. This year, there is a feeling of emptiness in this celebration, due to the disappointment of an immigration reform that would bring stability to so many immigrants that live in our communities.
However, our celebration is a sign of faith that remind us where our hopes are, even though we are going through so much trouble, God will keep our grace and talents of our humble people, with values that teach us lessons of strength. Family, is one of these great values, regardless of not having enough, they know how to combine the kindness of their love for their family, with the roughness of their work, making their home the best form of expression of a church that migrates around the world spreading a message of true life.
In a family, the fortune of sharing, service, forgiveness, respect and commitment are combined to achieve the well-being of its members. In every family, parents become teachers of their children, respecting the learning process of each child to learn how to live and learn. Parents welcome their children with kindness and love, respect their live, recognize them as a gift from God and help them grow with love, life and service.
Also, we help each and every member of this community to belong to a faith, and this gift is passed on through a tradition of knowledge, celebrations and values that are reflected in the tenderness of the loved ones, serving and learning to return these values to every person that shares our life with us.
We pray to God this month to bless every family, their faith and traditions in order for the society to recognize the right and necessity to provide love, faith ad hope to families.
